BMX riders to shine at SA Champs

South Africa's BMX riders will do battle for top honours at this weekend's National and UCI African Continental Championships, taking place at Giba Gorge, KwaZulu-Natal.

The two separate events will be held at Africa’s first purpose-built Supercross track on October 25 and 26.

Reigning SA champs Kyle Dodd and Maia Rawlins will both be back to defend their titles on Saturday and will line-up against 160 other local riders.

2012 champion Sifiso Nhlapo will not be among the competitors.

Teagan O’Keeffe, who recently started training again after an accident earlier in the season, will also miss out.

Her World Champs dreams were dashed when she crashed in the practice round at the UCI BMX World Championships in Rotterdam earlier this year.
