BMW Club season starts at Kyalami

The BMW CCG Club Racing Series will kick off its fourth season at Kyalami this Sunday at the Bridgestone BMW Track and Race Day.

Citizen Motoring road test guru Mark Jones left the 2013 season as the proud owner of the number 1 plate, being crowned champion even though he ran in the feeder class.

The fact that he won this championship from the lower rung of the field speaks volumes about the Series’ ability to provide close, competitive and fun racing for any budget.

At the sharper end of the field the action is just as spectacular. Some extremely quick and brutal machinery is being prepared for this year’s title chase. That will include the likes of Kris Budnik’s V8 powered M3GT and Lee Thompson in the insane 335i known better as ‘Boris the Animal’.

The track day will kick off at 8am, with the two races scheduled for 1pm and 3pm respectively.

Spectator admission will be free, and anyone over the age of 12 can ride shotgun around Kyalami for just R100 in the Bridgestone Hot Lap Vehicles. Please note though that long pants and closed shoes are compulsory for this.
