Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane’s father Reverend Welcome Simelane opened up about his daughter’s assault video and claimed that muti was being used on his daughter to “control” her. In an interview with eNCA on Monday, Simelane claimed that his daughter may have been kept under a spell until a prophet, who he could not mention, helped free his daughter.
He said: “I’m assuming that there is some muti being used. My daughter once found something under the bed that is like a doll, like a baby, with some strings and some muti around that thing and my daughter was not well. I prayed for my daughter, and another prophet that I don’t want to mention helped my daughter because of that.”
He told TimesLive that he had reached a point where he wanted to take the law into his hands, following the viral video.
He was quoted as saying: “I spoke to him on the previous assault and went to talk to his father so he stops the abuse. My daughter recorded the video because she saw that Mampintsha was going to kill her yesterday and whenever she tries to leave him, he threatens to kill himself.”
Her team released a statement saying she could not be interviewed as she was still “emotional” about the situation.
“We would like to thank everyone for the messages support about the early morning video. Unfortunately, Babes can’t be able to have any interviews for now as she is still emotional about the situation. She will issue the statement on her social media platform later today.”
