A motorist was involved in a bizarre accident when his vehicle landed on top of a power generator at McDonald’s restaurant in Sandton, north of Johannesburg, Alex News reports.
The driver seemingly drove his vehicle from one side of Grayston Drive, over the concrete centre barrier and across the lanes going in the opposite direction.
The car went through a steel fence, was stopped by a concrete wall, and came to rest on top of the generator. The vehicle remained suspended on top of the generator until the following day when it was removed by a towing company.
A man who claimed to know the owner of the vehicle said metro police attended to the accident, and the driver was taken to the hospital, but could not state what caused the accident. The driver’s condition could not be specified.

A man who said he was a guard at the premises said night duty workers at the restaurant heard a noise and found the car perched on the generator, but did not know how the driver got out.
Others speculated that the driver may have suffered an epileptic seizure.
