Woman robbed of jewellery worth R200k

The armed suspect pretended to be waiting for her turn in the toilet stall when she accosted the victim.


An uMhlanga woman in KwaZulu-Natal was robbed of R200 000 worth of jewellery at knife-point in a toilet on Palm Boulevard, Northglen News reports.

The victim said the suspect, another woman, was pretending to wait to use a stall when the woman accosted her.

“The victim was walking out of the bathroom when the suspect pulled out a knife and pushed her against the wall of the toilet. She snatched her necklace and demanded her valuables before making off with the goods.

“The suspect then fled on foot. At the moment, we are reviewing CCTV footage to look for the suspect,” he said.

Deokaran added the victim was extremely traumatised by the incident.
