Possible crime syndicate cracked, goods worth over R1m confiscated

The Police in Motetema, Limpopo have cracked a possible crime syndicate in Tafelkop area at Dikgalaopeng village outside Groblersdal this weekend, Review Online reports.
According to a statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, police members followed up on a tip-off received from the public about men unloading groceries at a shop at midnight.
“Reacting to the tip-off, the police arrived at the said shop and found the duo busy offloading the stock. When the suspects failed to produce the necessary documents to prove the legality of these items, they were immediately arrested.”

During the arrest foam baths, toothpastes, sta-soft liquid and bath soaps estimated to the value of over R1 million were recovered.
The two male suspects (aged 29 and 42) will appear before the Motetema Magistrate’s Court on Monday on the charge of possession of suspected stolen properties.
Police investigations are still continuing.
