Woman, 58, murdered, set on fire

Her sister said the woman went out to the loo, and when she came back to her room, she noticed smoke coming out of her sister’s room.


KwaMsane police are investigating a case of murder after Vusiwe Elizabeth Zikhali, 58, was killed and her body set on fire at Mfekayi, near Mdungandlovu High School, in Mpumalanga.

The incident is believed to have taken place at at about 5am on Sunday, Zululand Observer reported.

According to Zikhali’s sister, she went out to the loo, and when she came back to her room, she noticed smoke coming out of her sister’s room.

She quickly went to check what was going on, and found her sister dead and her body burning.

She used water to put out the fire.

It was later discovered that among other injuries, the deceased’s right leg was broken.

No arrests have yet been made.
