Serial rapist, 23, gets six life sentences

He raped young girls and women between November 2010 and January 2016.

A 23-year-old serial rapist was sentenced to six life sentences for a multiple of rape charges he committed around Kabokweni, Mpumalanga.

Senzo Vincent Matsane was found guilty and sentenced by the Eastern circuit of the Gauteng High Court in Mbombela on September 11, Mpumalanga News reported.

His victims were young girls and women from 14 years and above.

It was heard in court that Matsane would force his victims into the bushes, strangled their necks or sometimes robbed them their belongings, then threatened to kill them with a knife before raping them.

He was finally arrested by the police in 2016, and he pleaded guilty to the charges.

During sentencing, Judge De Vos said: “These offences were committed over a period of five years, and the accused had properly planned to commit the offences.”
