Audi R8 driver shot at, drives to clinic for medical care

As the wounded driver drove to the clinic, he lost control of his vehicle and hit three other cars.


The driver of an Audi R8 sports vehicle was shot in the upper body while driving earlier today, north of Johannesburg,  Sandton Chronicle reports.

The shooting took place in Melrose, near the Athol offramp.

Constable David Mothapo, spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station, said: “The driver heard gunshots and then realised that he was the target. He was, however, shot by the assailants, and he managed to drive away from the gunfire.”

“He drove to the Morningside Clinic to have his gunshot wounds attended to. As he drove into the clinic, the driver lost control of his vehicle and collided with three other vehicles at the clinic, and he was then taken to a nearby hospital to receive further treatment.”
