Family robbed of belongings worth more than R1m

It is alleged a gang held one of the family members at gunpoint before ransacking the house.


They then made off with a number of valuable items and two vehicles, which were parked in the garage, Boksburg Advertiser reports.

No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported, police are investigating a case of house robbery.

In another house robbery, four armed men, driving a white Mercedes-Benz, robbed a Sunward Park couple of belongings worth about R120 000.

The victims, a husband and wife, had just arrived home from a gymnasium when the robbers held them at gunpoint and tied them up inside the house.

The thugs stole valuables including a TV, jewellery, handbags, cellphones and an iPad.

Boksburg police are also looking for a gunman who shot an Angelo informal settlement man on March 18.

The victim was rushed to Tambo Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A case of murder has been opened, and no arrests have been made in any of the cases.
