A Rustenburg woman in North West had to hear how robbers shot and killed her husband while she hid in another room during an armed robbery.
Etricia du Randt and her husband, Soutie, 62, were asleep in their bedroom when armed men broke into their house on Friday, Kormorant reported.
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Kelebogile Moleko, Etricia was woken up by a noise.
“She woke up her husband, and they got up to investigate and came upon the armed robbers. She ran to another room and locked herself in.”
Shortly after, she heard the shots that killed her husband.
Du Randt was shot in the chest, and the robbers fled with a television set.
Moleko said the robbers were still at large.
