Decomposed body found on the N2

The man was hit by a car while trying to cross the road as a wing mirror of a vehicle was found next to him.

The decomposed body of a man in his 30s was discovered by police and local security on the N2 near Sunningdale, in KwaZulu-Natal, on Tuesday.

According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, motorists spotted the bloated body on the centre median, Northglen News reported.

He added the body may have been there for a few days.

“We believe the man was hit by a car while trying to cross the road. We found a wing mirror of a vehicle next to him.”

“His body was badly decomposed, the heat may have contributed to it. He was still in his work clothes and his damaged cellphone was lying next to him. He may have been there for a few days, judging by the decomposition. The scene was handed over to the police,” he said.

It is believed the incident may be a hit-and-run as there was no case registered at the Greenwood Park police station.
