UPDATE: One suspect arrested for lion poaching

Police are still looking for three more suspects who managed to evade the police during the arrest.


A suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing of a white lion at Ingogo Safaris Game Lodge near Alldays, Limpopo.

This after the lion was discovered Tuesday in the enclosure. The head and the paws has been removed, Review Online reported.

“The suspect(s) appear to have been disturbed. as they also attempted to remove the skin but failed.”

“All four paws and the lion’s head were recovered during the arrest,” said police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.

He said police were still looking for three more suspects, who managed to evade the police during the arrest.

The suspect, aged 31-years-old, will appear in court soon, and more arrests are expected.
