The suspects were not armed, but they threatened the victim verbally.

Norkem Park police on the East Rand are requesting anyone with information on a hijacking that took place at Blouborsie Kleuterbewaarskool to come forward.

According to Norkem Park police spokesperson Captain Lesibana Molokomme, a man was parked outside the créche waiting for his wife, who had gone inside with their child, on Tuesday, Kempton Express reported.

The hijacked vehicle is a white Ford Figo, registration BJ 77 CFGP. The incident took place at about 7:30am.

“While the victim was waiting in his car, he noticed a white Volkswagen making a U-turn and coming towards him. Two male suspects got out of the VW and approached him – each went to either side of the car and opened the doors,” added Molokomme.

Molokomme said the suspects were not armed, but they threatened the victim verbally. It’s alleged there were four suspects.

The principal of the créche declined to comment on the matter.

Anyone who has information about the suspects, or who has seen the stolen car, is urged to call D/Cost Tammy Mazibuko on 072 270 3214, or Norkem Park Police Station on 011-391-1814/5, or 08600 10111.
