It also coincides with UNESCO’s World Book Day, which commemorates the deaths of literary icons Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare, highlighting the event’s strong literary focus. In 2025, the city transformed into an open-air celebration, with over 500 stalls across major streets like La Rambla and Passeig de Gracia offering books and roses. More than 500 authors took part in public book signings, attracting thousands of locals and visitors. The festival also embraced modern touches, with services like Glovo delivering 20,000 roses and over 1,200 books across the city.
