Timbali receives gold productivity award

Technology incubator sccops award.

Timbali Technology Incubator, an agri-incubator that sets up small-scale farmers in their own businesses, received a gold productivity award from Productivity SA on Wednesday.

According to Productivity SA CEO, Mr Bongani Coka, the awards are aimed at recognizing organizations and companies which continue to improve their productivity, despite difficult trading conditions as a result of South Africa experiencing its first recession in 15 competitive years.

The awards were adjudged out of three categories; the emerging, corporate and public sectors. Timbali is a non-profit organisation, funded by the government, private companies and international aid walked away with the award, representing Mpumalanga. Coka, congratulated the organisation and said they were exemplary and others should learn from them in ensuring that unemployment is curbed and South Africa becomes more productive

“We take pride in such organisations who excel in terms of productivity, awarding others an opportunity to secure jobs,especially the young people,” he said.

Timbali CEO, Ms Louise de Klerk expressed her gratitude to the organisation’s staff saying that their productivity was due to strong team work.

“We had a great but challenging year but we are proud of all our achievements and I believe that we will all continue to improve productivity,” she added.
