The Zwartkops Raceway near Pretoria will host round three of the 2023 Extreme Festival this Saturday, with five national championship disciplines in action.
The premier show will comprise of two Global Touring Car races, with a total of 17 drivers in the GTC and SupaCup categories to face the starter.

Current champion Robert Wolk (Chemical Logistics Toyota Corolla) will face off against Saood Variawa (Gazoo Racing Toyota Corolla), Michael van Rooyen (Gazoo Racing Toyota Corolla), Bradley Liebenberg (Hype Energy Volkswagen Golf GTI), Andrew Rackstraw (Sparco Volkswagen Golf GTI), Nathi Msimanga (Gazoo Racing Toyota Corolla) and Josh le Roux (Audi S3).
Top SupaCup contenders should include Keegan Campos (Veloce SupaPolo), Danie van Niekerk (Titan Stunts SupaPolo), Arnold Neveling (Goscor SupaPolo), Jonathan Mogotsi (Volkswagen Motorsport SupaPolo), Tate Bishop (Angri SupaPolo), Dominic Dias (Chemi SupaPolo) and lady racer Karah Hill, making her class debut in the Kalex SupaPolo.
The CompCare Polo Cup will see current points leader Charl Visser (Universal Polo) take on Giordano Lupini (Tork Craft Polo), Dean Venter (M-Town Polo), Dawie van der Merwe (Nathan’s Polo), Ethan Coetzee (JRT Polo), Bryce Pillay (Techtisa Polo), Tyler Robinson (AF Fans Polo) and Jason Loosemore (Security Polo).
The event’s quickest lap time should be set by the G&H Transport Extreme Supercar contingent, with the victory favourites Franco Scribante (Scribante Porsche 911 GT2 RSR), Jonathan du Toit (TAR Lamborghini Huracan), Charl Arangies (Pagid Mercedes-AMG GT3), Charl Joubert (A-One Lotus Elise), Mark du Toit (TAR Audi R8 GT3), Kris Budnik (Bucket List Dodge Viper), Gianni Giannoccaro (BSC Transport Nissan GT-R) and Mohsin Mia (Toys R Us Porsche 911).
The Geldenhuys brothers, Antwan and Gerard, should fight for Investchem F1600 single seater podiums in their Abacus Mygales, chased by people like Nicholas van Weely (Magnificent Paints Van Diemen), Troy Dolinscheck (Sujean Mugale), Alex Vos (Investchem Mygale), Andrew Schofield (Safair Mygale), Storm Larfear (AMD Mygale) and Jason Coetzee (Mint Mygale).
Since its launch last year, the Gazoo Racing Cup series has become a spectator favourite, and 13 cars will be in action at Zwartkops this weekend.
Sa’aad Variawa (Bucketlist Toyota Yaris) should be the Yaris League victory favorite, chased by people like Bjorn Berholdt (Bucketlist Yaris), Nicky Vostaris (Bucketlist Yaris), Ryan Naicker (Bucketlist Yaris) and Karah Hill (Bucketlist Yaris).
In the GR86 League, The Citizen Motoring’s Road Test editor Mark Jones (Gazoo Toyota 86) will face off against fellow scribes Denis Droppa, Setshaba Mashingo, Chad Luckhoff and Brendan Staniforth.
The Zwartkops gates will be open from 7am, with racing to commence at 10am.
Racing apart, there will be Supadrift exhibitions, a beer tent, live music, arts and craft stalls, skidpan rides, race simulator challenges, karting and vehicle displays.
You may visit the pits on foot at any time and the circuit’s Mini Moke trains will operate between the pit gate and spectator points all day.
