The entry engine, the 1.4 TSI 118kW, has been replaced with the 2.0 TSI 132kW engine. Meanwhile, the 2.0 TSI 155kW is now fitted with the new Golf GTI 2.0 TSI engine that delivers 162kW. The latter also gets the exclusive GTS interior and exterior trim. The 2.0 TSI with 132kW is available with a six-speed manual transmission. Its maximum torque of 280Nm is delivered from 1 250rpm. The top speed is said to be 227km/h and the 0-100km/h sprint is claimed to be achieved in 7.4 seconds. The average fuel consumption is also said to be just 6.1 litres/100km.
The 2.0 TSI Scirocco GTS with 162kW is mated to a six-speed DSG transmission, which accelerates it to 100km/h in just 6.9 seconds it is claimed, along with a top speed of 246km/h. The combined fuel consumption is claimed to be an economical 6.4 litres/100km. The original Scirocco GTS was launched in 1982. The 1982 coupe was based on the Golf GTI, both technically and visually. It was recognisable by a strikingly designed GTS stripe, its distinctive sport seats and a gear knob in golf ball design. These interior features have been re-introduced in the new Scirocco GTS.
The Scirocco GTS is equipped as standard with new 18-inch Norwich alloy wheels. In addition, the Scirocco GTS comes with the exterior elements of the R-Line package, which includes distinctive R-style bumpers and a diffuser. The wing mirror caps are painted in stylish black and – similar to its predecessor, the ’82 Scirocco GTS – the new model can be ordered with a sporty GTS decal for the body as an option. This option features two decorative red stripes that run centrally from the bonnet over the
roof and the boot.
The 5.8 Composition Media infotainment system with colour touch screen is a standard feature in the Scirocco GTS and the car can be ordered with optional features, such as keyless entry, rear view camera, adaptive chassis control, park distance control and 19-inch Lugano alloy wheels.
