Volkswagen stops making the Polo Sedan in SA

VW SA explained that 'the sedan segment is declining in importance rapidly'.


Volkswagen Group South Africa says the German manufacturer has no plans to continue manufacturing the car for the South African market.

According to CARmag.co.za , the Polo Sedan will remain available and “fill the niche between the previous Vivo Sedan and the new Polo” hatchback.

VW SA explained “the sedan segment is declining in importance rapidly”, with many customers moving to SUVs, adding it will thus be “bringing a number of new SUVs to the market in the coming years”.

Just recently, Volkswagen has announced the discontinuation of the Jetta.
