Tough Production Car racing to head up Zwartkops programme

High noon – the final shoot-out.

That will be the main Bridgestone Production Car championship attraction at Zwartkops this Saturday.

Fighting for the season’s overall title will be Johan Fourie (Alcohol Killer BMW 335i) and Michael Stephen (Engen Xtreme Audi S4).

Fourie will lead on points going to Zwartkops and there are many permutations, but basically Stephen needs to win both races if he is to retain his current national title.

Fourie will be backed by the similar Alcohol Killer BMW 335i of Gavin Cronje, while Simon Moss will be in the Engen Extreme team’s second Audi S4.

The class will be rounded out by the Sasol Audi S4 entries of Gennaro Bonafede and Hennie Groenewald, with both drivers able to score victories on the day.

Already-crowned 2014 champion Graeme Nathan (Genuine Parts VW Golf GTI) will be the man to beat in Class T, with his closest adversaries Gary Formato (Dealer Ford Focus ST), Michael van Rooyen (Williams Hunt Chev Cruze), plus the Castrol Mini Coopers of Lee Thompson and Mandla Mdakane.

Also hoping for clean runs will be Shaun Duminy (Dealer Ford Focus ST) and Charl Smalberger (Sabertek Golf GTI).

> This season’s Engen Volkswagen Cup Championship will be disputed by Sheldon van der Linde (Ferodo Polo), Dewald Brummer (MAD Polo) and Daniel Rowe (Ferodo Polo).

Racing will start at 10am with practice sessions earlier in the day.

Admission will cost R80 per adult and R60 per scholar, with kids under 12 entering for free.
