With its current project being an armoured version of the new Toyota Land Cruiser 300, local engineering firm, SVI, has unveiled a unique battering ram attachment for the Land Cruiser 70-series.
It’s latest specialty model based on a Toyota after the riot personnel carrying Hilux from two months ago, the new snowplough-like ram dubbed the anti-riot scraper, has been integrated into the central section of the front bumper with the standard plastic item’s flanks now replaced by steel plates.
Controlled by hydraulics via a switch inside the cab, the 100 kg scraper, which SVI claims takes four weeks to produce, can be moved in order to take action based on the “angle of attack”.

According to the firm though, the scraper – when raised – functions as a conventional bumper.
Said to take less than a day to be installed, the ram will soon also offered on the Ford Ranger and carries a sticker price of R64 995 excluding the actual vehicle.
