Revived Integra teased again but don’t expect a Honda version

Having commenced teasing the revived Integra last month, Honda’s upscale US division, Acura, has released a follow-up detailing the rear.

Previously offered as either a sedan or a three-door coupe, the latter giving rise to the iconic Honda badged Integra Type R and the DC5 known as the Acura RSX in the States, the seven second clip posted on Facebook shows what appears to a four-door sedan with a fastback, coupe-like roof and a rounded facia that seemingly pays homage to not only the fourth generation made between 2001 and 2006, but also the Peugeot 406 Coupe.

Despite no further details being revealed, what is known, as confirmed by the initial teaser, is that the Integra will feature styling from the Acura TLX and potentially have the option of a sporting Type S model powered by the former’s 265kW/480Nm twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 engine.

Likely to be based on the same platform as the Civic as was the case with previous generations, the Integra has been confirmed for unveiling in the US Spring, which runs from March to May.

It is also expected to remain a United States only model with no plans to offer it with right-hand-drive or market it as a Honda in Japan and elsewhere.
