Refreshed Mazda3 to boast more tech

Japanese automaker Mazda has confirmed to us that its Mazda 3 is set to receive a refreshed model boasting the company’s G-Vectoring Control (GVC) technology, which varies engine torque in response to steering input in order to improve handling and deliver a more comfortable ride.

The 3 receives a minor facelift which brings a revised grille that makes the front end look wider and lower, LED headlights, and a redesigned rear bumper for the hatchback model. New wheel designs and paint colors round out the visual updates.
According to MazdaSA, the model is set to receive better interior materials which might include a more sound-deadening material, and a new heads-up display.

The 3’s handbrake has been replaced by an electronic parking brake, a move that frees up space for an additional storage bin in the center console, and it gets a new steering wheel that’s similar to the CX-9’s.
Rumours suggest that the 3 could get a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes up to 186kW.

The refreshed Mazda3 will be launched locally by the end of August, with pricing information to be announced at launch.
