Atkinson made no mistakes in race two and won, pursued by Bevin and Wayne Masters, van der Merwe and Smalberger.
The opening BMW Club Challenge race was red-flagged after Nek Makris and Lyle Ramsay collided, with spilt fluids turning a part of the road into an ice rink.
After the restart, the ITA Security car of Bennie Luyt blew its engine into a huge fireball, leading to another red flag.
That left Leon Loubser to win from Renier Smith, Mansoor Parker and Anton Pommerstein. Loubser won race two as well, setting the day’s quickest lap time of two min 01.886 seconds in the process.
He was chased to the flag by Smith, Andreas Meier, Parker and Oz Biagioni.
Louis Scholtz (Car Care Clinic Volkswagen Golf GTI) won both of the day’s races for Car Care Clinic 111 Sports and GT vehicles, ahead of Maritz le Roux (111 Plumbers BMW 325i Turbo), Wouter Roos (Car Care Clinic Volkswagen Golf GTI) and Piet Potgieter (Nathan’s Volkswagen Golf GTI).
