Roughly three years since the Land Rover Range Rover’s fourth generation SUV hit our shores, the British marque is expanding its Range Rover line-up for 2017 with a new trim level named SVAutobiography Dynamic, deemed as the most powerful Range Rover ever.
The SVAutobiography Dynamic was developed specially with input from Land Rover’s Special Vehicles Operation.
The model is built around a 5.0-litre V8 engine sourced from the SVR churning ample power of 405kW and 680Nm of torque to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The large SUV sprints from 0-100km/h in 5.4 seconds en route to a limited top speed of 225km/h.
Word from the automaker suggests that you can only have it with an eight-speed automatic transmission developed by ZF which aims to deliver “seamless gear changes and supreme performance”.
Offered only with a short wheelbase, the new trim stands out thanks to Graphite Atlas trim and 21-inch wheels, while 22-inch alloys and red Brembo calipers – a first in the Range Rover nameplate’s 46-year long history – are available at an extra cost.
Step inside, and the Dynamic model receives a 10.2-inch touch screen, 20-way power-adjustable front seats upholstered in diamond-quilted leather, black wood trim on the dashboard, and red shift paddles. A leather-upholstered owner’s manual adds a finishing touch to the luxurious ambiance.
The SVAutobiography Dynamic ushers in Land Rover’s advanced tow assist technology, and an intelligent speed limiter function that reads road signs. Finally, it gets Dynamic Response, which improves handling, and new, high-tech suspension called Active Dynamics.
The 2017 Land Rover Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic carries a price tag that starts at R2 999 100 and will go on sale during the first quarter of 2017.
