So you probably know by now that Nissan is toying around with the ideas to have a Navara that will fight Ford’s soon-to-come Ranger Raptor.

The reveal was made by X-Class product manager for Australia and New Zealand, Scott Williams, during an interview at the launch of the posh pickup truck in Tasmania.
“They [Nissan] will never get the V6,” he said.
Scott further went on to say that the alliance between Mercedes and Nissan to lend the Navara’s platform for the X-Class does not also involve Daimler’s turbodiesel 3.0-litre V6 being shared with the Japanese automaker.
A report out of Australia in February surfaced stating that Nissan was “studying” the opportunity to create a high-performance version of its Navara to take the fight to the Ford Ranger Raptor.
With Ashwani Gupta, who heads up the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s light commercial vehicle unit, not ruling out the use of Mercedes-Benz’s 190kW/550 N.m six-cylinder engine.
