New BMW offerings are set to thrill

The BMW model family celebrates the premiere of another new model series, the 2 Series Coupe. This car raises the bar in the premium compact segment in terms of dynamic ability, aesthetic appeal and emotional allure.

It is a distinctive vehicle concept that is unique in its segment, with a two-door body in classic three-box design typical of BMW Coupes along with four seats, rear-wheel drive and an engine range and chassis set-up focused squarely on sporting ability.

The BMW 2 Series Coupe is given a clear visual differentiation from the compact BMW 1 Series models thanks to an individual design, including an increase in body length, elegantly sporty, stretched lines with roofline flowing smoothly into the rear, distinctive front and rear end design, body at its widest over the rear axle alonmg with BMW Sport Line, BMW Modern Line and M Sport package offerings for individualisation.

The 2 Series Coupe features both petrol and diesel engines with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology to deliver segment-leading figures in terms of both sporting ability and efficiency. The BMW 220i Coupe is the first compact BMW model to be powered by the 135 kW version of the 2.0 litre four-cylinder petrol engine; four-cylinder diesel engines developing 135 kW in the BMW 220d Coupe and the range-topping BMW M235i has a 3.0 litre six-cylinder in-line engine that delivers 240 kW.

The BMW 228i Coupe with 180 kW is scheduled to join the model range from September 2014 (available to order from July 2014); all petrol engine variants of the BMW 2 Series Coupe will thus outperform comparable models of the BMW 1 Series. Visit www.bwm.co.za for further details and full pricing.

The new BMW 4 Series Convertible heralds a new era in the premium mid-size range of open cars offered by BMW. The new design language introduced with the BMW 4 Series Coupe is even more evident in this second model of the series, enhancing the appearance of the BMW 4 Series Convertible while setting new standards in terms of dynamics, elegance and extraordinary driving pleasure.

The new BMW 4 Series Convertible is visibly larger in width, track and wheelbase than the BMW 3 Series Convertible. The vehicle’s impeccable balance of proportions and characteristic flowing lines stem from the typical BMW short overhangs front and rear, the stretched bonnet and set-back passenger compartment.

The interior of the BMW Series 4 Convertible presents a stylish fusion of sporty allure, elegance and exclusivity. All of the controls are arranged ergonomically around the driver to provide optimum access to all functions.
