WATCH: How fast is fast? Meet the Porsche 911 GT2 RS

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is the modern-day holy grail of all things fast. But just how fast is fast? Have a look (and turn up the volume) for an idea of what it sounds, and looks like, when it buzzes the control tower.

Producing 515 kW of power and 750 Nm of torque running down through a seven-speed PDK gearbox to the rear wheels only, this 911 GT2 RS is fast with an obscenely brutal capital F.

Up till recently, the 911 GT2 RS was the fastest production car around the renowned Nürburgring Nordschleife with a time of six minutes 47.25 seconds. That is still remains the fastest time in the Porsche family.

So, we know it is fast around corners. But for it to go top of The Citizen renowned sprint times sheets it would have to dispose of BMW’s current record holding all-wheel drive M8 Competition Coupe that got to 100 km/h in a mere 3.13 sec and hit the 1 km mark at 265 km/h.

The 911 GT2 RS’ claimed acceleration time from a standstill to 100 km/h is a very impressive 2.8 sec with a top whack of 340 km/h. But the proof is in he pudding and we have been privileged enough to get the keys to the R5 511 000 911 GT2 RS in order to perform a high-performance test at Gerotek.
