Two cars we can’t wait to see at the Beijing Motor Show

So far, there’s only two of them on the list, but we will keep updating.


The Beijing Motor Show is set to kickstart in a week’s time.

While our motoring journalist, Ntsako Mthethwa, will be in attendance, we decided to jot down a few details about the two cars we are looking forward to seeing at the show.

As much as manufacturers tend to keep their reveals private until the big day, there’s only two of them on the list, but we will keep updating.

BMW M2 Competition

Roughly two years since we got a taste of BMW’s M2, the Munich-based carmaker has once again been reportedly hard at work readying its M2 Competition Pack.

The M2 Competition uses the S55 twin-turbocharged engine of the M3 and produces 302kW and 549Nm – a healthy boost over the stock M2’s 272kW and 500Nm.

Mercedes-Maybach GLS

Also set to be revealed at the show is the Mercedes-Maybach concept, which is believed to be a precursor to its GLS SUV.
