The fifth model after the updated Triton, ASX, Eclipse Cross and the South-East Asian market Xpander MPV to receive the brand’s Dynamic Shield styling language, the Pajero Sport’s revised face sees the inclusion of new headlights, a restyled grille and beefier bumper with wider side intakes.

Although not much else is known at present, the Pajero Sport could receive the same subtle interior tweaks as the Triton, with motoring.com.au reporting that it could potentially come with Autonomous Emergency Braking for the Australian market.

Like the Triton though, the Pajero Sport’s drivetrain will not be effected by the facelift, with motivation set to once again come from the all-aluminium 2.4 DI-D turbodiesel engine that makes 133kW/430Nm, with drive set to go to the rear-or-all-four-wheels via the eight-speed automatic gearbox.

If confirmed for South Africa, expect to Pajero Sport to make its official market debut sometime next year.
