Meriva range gets higher spec levels

The revised Meriva 1.4T Enjoy model gains a host of feature upgrades to close the gap left by the absence of the Cosmo model. Standard specification now includes a leather-bound steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, storage trays under both front seats, folding trays on the front seat backs, front arm rests and a rear seat adaptor for the sliding centre console.

The Meriva continues use the same 103 kW turbocharged 1.4-litre ECOTEC petrol engine which has 200 Nm of torque.

Average fuel economy on the combined cycle is 6.7-litres per 100 km and carbon emissions are 156 g/km.

Existing equipment which includes a six-speed manual gearbox, ABS with EBD and BAS, six airbags, an electronic parking brake, traction- and stability control, 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, a multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, Bluetooth and USB compatibility for the audio system.

The Opel Meriva 1.4T Enjoy is priced at R253 800 and comes standard with a five-year/120 000 km warranty and a five-year/90 000 km service plan.
