Coming less than a week after posting a blackened image on its twitter page, the 15 second clip posted by Benz on Facebook, somewhat oddly, shows a mirrored and flipped display of the GLB on a country road and then on a dirt pass with the scene ending off with, ‘The new GLB. Coming Soon”.
In spite of the lack of details, a closer look at the video effectively confirms the GLB as the production version of the concept (main image) shown at the Shanghai Motor Show in April, with the overall look being similar to that of the updated GLC and new GLE.
Providing seating for seven and not five as initially expected, the interior of the GLB, based on the video, will feature orange stitching and the turbine-styled air vents derived from the A-Class.
Like its hatch sibling and indeed the CLA, the GLB will ride on the MFA2 front-wheel-drive platform with 4Matic all-wheel-drive set to be optional on some models, while underneath the bonnet, expect the same range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines as the A-Class with a hybrid set to be added at some stage.
Later on, the GLB will receive the AMG touch in the form of the 225 kW ‘35’ and the ‘45’ outputting 285 kW or 310 kW in the case of the 45 S.
