If one of Jozi's notorious potholes strikes, you should not be fearing for your life at the side of the road.

South Africa is not the safest place in the world to be stranded at the side of the road when your vehicle breaks down.

That is why Mercedes-Benz has raised the bar in customer experience by providing security services to protect the car’s occupants until assistance arrives.

This is a new service included in the all-new PremiumDrive Exclusive Care service and maintenance plan offered by Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA). It offers comprehensive seven-year/140 000km cover for unrivalled peace of mind.

The PremiumDrive Exclusive Care plan covers a wide range of services, from regular maintenance to essential repairs, all taken care of by authorised Mercedes-Benz technicians using genuine parts.

Mercedes-Benz committed to its customers

“At Mercedes-Benz South Africa, we are committed to creating Mercedes Moments that truly matter, especially during life’s unexpected and challenging situations,” says Claudius Steinhoff, executive director & Co-CEO of MBSA.

“Our focus is always on delivering the highest customer relevance, offering peace of mind with every journey. That’s why we’re enhancing our service commitment with a new seven-year/140 000km service and maintenance plan offering—an upgrade that ensures your experience is one that far exceeds expectations.”

In addition to the emergency security services, the plan also includes 24/7 roadside assistance, alternative or replacement transport if required, and complimentary tyre and rim cover. The latter is covered by Mercedes-Benz Financial Services and includes comprehensive cover for tyre and rim repairs or replacements.

Top notch call centre

The Citizen Motoring recently experienced the proficiency of the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Centre.

A tyre blowout in one of Joburg’s notorious potholes left us stranded in CLE300 Cabriolet tester.

Fortunately, it happened in broad daylight over a weekend in a seemingly safe suburb without the need for security services for protection.

It’s not that we didn’t expect good service from the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Centre. But the way they treated us as customers was outstanding. And they didn’t know that we could expose them should the service not have been good.

To celebrate the launch of the new plans, MBSA prepared special offers on certain models through Agility Finance. These include the A-Class, C-Class, GLC and GLE among others. Offers range from 12 to 60 months and include a year’s free comprehensive insurance on some models.
