Soon you’ll be able to cruise in an open-top Mercedes-AMG GT as plans for the GT convertible may be quickly approaching.
According to a leaked presentation roadmap posted by Autocar, the drop-top variant is slated for arrival in showrooms sometime in spring, with speculations suggesting that the model will be labelled the GT C.
As per the document, the GT C will fall behind the crazy fast GT R (pictured) that was unveiled recently. The roadmap also includes a GT C Coupe planned towards the end of 2017, though the latest report suggests the title is erroneous and actually represents a facelift for the hardtop edition.
The model is rumoured to be available in standard S trims. It will presumably churn out 340kW, while the latter should deliver 375kW.
The Stuttgart-based carmaker is expected to continue to roll-out additional GT variants as it attempts to compete with Porsche’s wide range of models in its popular 911 family.
If the speculations are true, we hope to see the convertible before the year-end with more details including actual availability information and further specifications to be made available.
