Mazda CX-30 puts on Carbon attire

Mazda has expanded its Carbon limited edition touch to the CX-30 after debuting the moniker on the CX-5 earlier this year.

Upping the local line-up from three to four, the Carbon Edition, like the CX-5, is based on the mid-range Dynamic trim level and benefits from black 18-inch alloy wheels, black mirror caps and on the inside, red stitching on the doors, centre console knee pads, gear lever and armrest, plus black cloth seats also with red stitch work.

Standard specification is otherwise unchanged from the Dynamic with the normally aspirated 2.0-litre SkyActiv-G petrol engine also continuing as is. Output is once again rated at 121kW/213Nm with drive going to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Now available for ordering with sales commencing in the first half of next year, the CX-30 Carbon Edition can be specified in one of six colours; Snowflake White Pearl, Polymetal Grey, Sonic Silver, Machine Grey, Jet Black and Soul Crystal Red.

Pricing will be announced at a later stage, but expect a sticker of around R520 000 given the R499 000 asking price of the Dynamic and the R540 000 of the flagship Individual.
