Having made the confirmation last year, Lexus South Africa has officially divulged price and spec details of the drop-top LC Cabriolet.
Unveiled in production spec two years ago after bowing as a concept months before, the dramatic looking LC Cabriolet largely differs from its coupe sibling in the removal of the hard-top roof for a four-layer beige or black canvas lid that can be opened and closed in 15 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h.
In addition to new rear dampers, revised Adaptive Variable Suspension made out of aluminium and more bracing to compensate for the removal of the roof, the cabriolet’s only other differences from the coupe include a wind deflector, stronger windscreen pillars, neck heaters integrated into the headrests and a new climate control system that automatically adjusts when a drop or rise in temperature is detected.

Top speed is limited to 250 km/h with the 0-100 km/h dash taking 4.7 seconds. Like the coupe, six driving modes are offered; Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport S, Sport S+ and Custom
In total, the LC 500 Cabriolet colour palette comprises eleven hues;
Priced at R2 345 500 compared to the coupe’s R2 158 200, the LC 500 Cabriolet’s sticker price once again includes a seven year/105 000 km warranty and maintenance plan.
