Still lingering hope
South Africa last played host to a Grand Prix in 1993 at Kyalami. The rumblings of a potential comeback reverberated recently, as talks were held to stage an event as early as this year.
Although those discussions ultimately faltered, hope still flickers on the horizon, casting its gaze toward the year 2024.
Kyalami still ultimately remains South Africa’s greatest hope of a Formula 1 race with spokespeople for the circuit remaining hopeful of an event.
