Its line-up bolstered last month by the inclusion of the Cargo panel van model, Hyundai has added a third derivative to the Atos range in the shape of an automatic transmission option.
Visually unchanged from the manual equivalent, the only interior difference is of course the removal of the clutch pedal and replacing of the gear lever for the five-speed manual with the shifter of the five-speed automated manual (AMT).
Officially Hyundai’s cheapest and self-shifting model, motivation remains as is with outputs of 50kW/99Nm from the 1.1-litre petrol engine. Claimed fuel consumption is rated at 5.9 L/100 km, 0.2 L/100 km more than the manual.

The fitting of the auto ‘box has however not impacted on standard specification with the Motion spec Atos coming as standard with the following:
Available in the same colours as the manual, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Alpha Blue, Fiery Red and Acid Yellow, the automatic carries a sticker price of R189 900, a R14 400 premium, with a seven year/200 000 km warranty being standard once again.
