Volkswagen has slapped its new T-Roc with an added R on the name tag and given it extra grunt.
The T-Roc R is the brand’s first performance SUV that features a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine with 221 kW and 400 Nm of torque.
It boasts VW’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system and a seven-speed DSG transmission and Golf R-sourced brakes.
In terms of performance, the VW T-Roc R will be able to sprint from 0-100km/h in only 4.9 seconds and it will reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
The T-Roc R features aggressive styling cues, lowered suspension, big air intakes plus four exhaust tips. It also rides on standard 18-inch alloys – 19-inch alloys are available as an option.
Sadly the standard T-Roc isn’t available in our market, but we still hope Volkswagen SA will consider bringing it to the local market.
