Happy Kyalami festival

Full grids, good racing and a surprisingly large crowd typified Kyalami's Extreme Racing Festival round on Saturday.

U Top billing for the day belonged to the dotsure.co.za Extreme Supercars. Charl Arangies won both races in his Martin Morgan/Motul Dodge Viper V10.

In the opening heat he was chased to the flag by Jonathan du Toit (TAR Ferrari 430), Deon du Plessis (X-Cars KTM X-Bow).

The second time around Deon du Plessis strongly challenged the mighty Viper in his KTM finishing just 1,5 seconds adrift at the flag.

U Youngster Scott Temple (Ferodo Rhema) clinched this year’s Hankook Formula Vee championship by winning both races.

U Stewart MacLeod (SEW Eurodrive ZX10R) took his usual two victories in the Red Square Kawasaki Masters Cup category.

U The 111 Sports and Saloons Car races produced a large grid Adrian Dalton (Xtra Shoes VW Golf) won Class A.

Other class victories went to Marius Wait (Class B TAR Mustang), Derick Smalberger (Class C Sabertek VW Beetle), Greg Gossman (Class D Chamdor Veridot Golf) and Ray Wise in a Porsche 924 entry.
