Full Sports and GT entry

Ben Morgenrood and his Indy Oil Mustang have become almost unbeatable in the V8 GT category and he could come close to clinching the title this weekend.

Trying to stop him from doing so will be people like Larry Wilford (Fuchs Titan Corvette), Franco di Matteo (Varta Batteries Jaguar), Terry Wilford (Fuchs Titan Mustang) and Romano Sartori (AMC Mustang). Jody van Zummeren (Border Towing Corvette) and Ray Wilford (Fuchs Titan Corvette) will round out the regular category contenders.

Making a welcome return will be Steve Herbst (Prei Instrumentation Corvette), Roelf du Plessis (Team 22 Corvette), Willie Hepburn (Chev Corvette), Carl Nel (Gears for Africa Jaguar) and George Smith (Exclusive Glass Jaguar).

Rui Campos (Liqui Moly Shelby) will head up the Shelby Sports Car field, with his nearest challengers Ferdi van Niekerk (Motorola Cordless Shelby), Alan Eve (Pilot Pens Shelby), Brian Algar (Compendium Shelby), and Craig Shorter (dotsure.co.za Shelby). Others to watch include Alister Brown (NAC Helicopters Shelby) and Andrew Strike (Strike 1 Shelby).

The SA Single Seaters will tackle Zwartkops in separate races for the Formula Volkswagen and F1600 categories. In the Formula Volkswagen category Robert Wolk (Midas FVW) has one hand on the championship trophy, but Nicholas van Weely (Anglorand FVW) could still give him a run for his money.

Also chasing podium places should be Werner Scholtz (Motorvia FVW), Chris Shorter (Etana FVW), Sebastian Lanzetti (IVMA FVW) and Matthew Merton (Hypress FVW).

A new name in the Formula Volkswagen ranks will be that of Jason Campos (Hollard FVW) who will drive father Rui’s car with an eye on a full season in 2014.

In the F1600 category it will be advantage Keegan Campos (Etana Mygale) over his brother Jason (Etana Mygale). Chasing them will be Scott Temple (Ferodo Mygale), Graham Hepburn (Suburban Panelbeaters Mygale), Bevan Williams (Mygale) and Dean Venter (Turnfab Engineering Mygale).

George Ferreira (GF PMS Mygale) looks to have the Class B championship almost sewn up, but Rick Morris (Investchem Mygale) is still in with a shout. Ian Schofield (Investchem Mygale), Allen Meyer (Mygale), Andreas Petrou (Investchem Mygale) and Alex Gillespie (Mygale) will round out the field.
