Introduced with the Ranger earlier this year, Ford has now expanded its smartphone PassConnect system to the EcoSport and Everest.

Standard on all versions of the latter but only on the top-spec EcoSport Titanium, the system integrates with a user’s device by means of the FordPass app available from the respective app store.

Once downloaded, it allows owners to view key aspect of their vehicle, such as the tyre pressure, where the tyre pressure monitoring system is fitted, distance to empty and the odometer reading.

Also included on the app is a 24 hour road assistance that forms part of the three year plan all models come standard with, and access to the vehicle’s service history.

“We launched FordPass Connect in South Africa in February this year on the Ranger, and it has been exceptionally well received by our customers.

“We are delighted to now expand the system to a broader range of Ford customers purchasing new Everest and EcoSport models,” Ford’s General Manager for Marketing, Doreen Mashinini, said.
