South African race driver David Perel, who clinched the 2017 Blancpain GT Sprint AM title for the Kessel Ferrari team in Hungary two weekends ago, now has designs on winning the overall Blancpain GT AM title with US co-driver David Earle.

After an exceptional year in both the Blancpain series’ Endurance and Sprint championships, Perel and Earle are really close to adding the AM Endurance title to their names as well. If they do, they will emerge as the year’s overall Blancpain AM champions.

“Winning the Sprint title is already a huge achievement for me personally – I am massively proud to represent South Africa in such a competitive series. “Now my focus switches to The Kyalami circuit will offer its Motorsport Festival again this year, to take place on Saturday, November 4.

The event will incorporate the penultimate round of the 2017 Extreme Festival, plus a variety of other circuit racing on both four and two wheels.

Extreme Festival categories racing on the day will include the Sasol Global Touring Cars, Engen Volkswagen Cup, Investchem Formula 1600, Hankook Formula Vee, G&H Transport Extreme Supercars, 111 & Superhatch, VW Challenge, Kawasaki ZX10 Cup, Bridgestone Thunderbikes, Challenge and Sub 10.

There will also be races for V8 Supercars with over 30 vehicles from the V8 Supercar and Cape Town based V8 Master categories in a ten-lap heat.

Spectator embankments at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit will offer excellent views of the circuit and visitors will be encouraged to bring and braai.

A grid walk will take place during lunch time where spectators can meet the drivers, and see the race cars up close on the starting line.

Tickets can be purchased at iTickets.co.za. General circuit access starts at R50 and premium packages will cost R400. Pit passes are R75 each. Children under 12 go in for free.
