BMW Club offers top-end runs
Join the BMW Car Club Gauteng at the ODI Raceway this Sunday for an adrenaline-filled day at the Bridgestone Speed and Sound one kilometre Top-end Day, where you can test your car's performance abilities in a safe environment and walk away with a trophy instead of a fine.

The club will be running solo one kilometre top-end runs, with times being measured at both the 400m and one kilometre markers, with the terminal speed at one kilometre recorded for prize giving purposes. The event is open to both BMW and non-BMW cars and if there are six or more vehicles of the same make registered and paid a week before the event, the club will ensure they are in a separate trophy category for prize giving.
Be there by 7.30am for car scruitineering. Drivers’ briefing will be at 8am and racing will run till 3pm, with prize giving at 4pm. It will cost you R400 if you are a BMWCCG member or Speed and Sound subscriber and R500 if not.
Spectators get in for free and there is a canteen on site for food and drink during the day. Because this is a Motorsport SA (MSA) sanctioned event, an MSA licence will be required.
If you don’t have one, you can purchase a social drag licence, which costs R290 on the day. In addition, a helmet needs to be worn as well as long sleeve shirts, long pants and closed shoes. Should you not have a helmet, the BMW Car Club has a few helmets that can be hired on the day for R200.
