Specification details of Alfa Romeo’s long delayed Tonale have surfaced ahead of its world reveal next year.
Already pushed back twice with the most recent deferment in April being as a result of alleged unacceptable powertrain performance, Autoblog Poland’s uncovering of several details has nonetheless provided a clearer picture of what to expect from the brand’s crucial newcomer.
Set to make use of the same platform as the Jeep Compass, the Tonale, according to Autoblog, will measure 4 528 mm in overall length and feature a wheelbase of 2 636 mm, height of 1 604 mm and width of 1 835 mm.
The main focus though centres around the choice of powertrains, all allegedly obtained from an internal product presentation.
Shared with the Compass, the quartet of units include the 96kW/320Nm version of the long serving 1.6 Multijet turbodiesel and the Brazilian made and developed 1.3-litre Firefly turbocharged petrol rated at 96kW/270Nm.

Slotting-in above the latter is another Firefly unit, this time with 118 kW as a result of reported mild-hybrid assistance.
Completing the line-up, the Veloce, in lieu of a QV model not happening, will derive motivation from the same plug-in hybrid system as the Compass and Renegade 4xe, namely the mentioned Firefly combined with an 11.4 kWh battery for a total system output of 177 kW
The claimed all-electric range is anticipated to be around 50 km with 0-100 km/h projected to take seven seconds. Trim levels will comprise Super, Sprint, Ti and Veloce with all likely to offer a single transmission option, a seven-speed dual-clutch.
Reportedly debuting in February next year, expect more details, including official teasers, to emerge over the coming weeks.
