President Park based New Jerusalem Children’s Home hosts successful AGM

"I believe her unwavering commitment and leadership remain invaluable to the centre," chairperson Bophelo Moyaha, lauds co-founder of the New Jerusalem Childrens home

The 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the New Jerusalem Children’s Home (NJCH) was held at the Gallagher Convention Centre on October 5.

Speaking at the AGM, chairperson Bophelo Moyaha, said it was imperative to acknowledge that the home’s current success and growth would not have been possible without the ongoing support from the Department of Social Development (DSD) and Gallagher Convention Centre.

She said although there was success and growth, the home was experiencing serious funding challenges due to the growth of their intake through the department.
“It is evident that we share a common objective of transforming the lives of our children for the better, with NJCH and its supporting structure, Lanto Montessori, and many other schools, the health department, DSD, and legal structures. This relationship is of major importance to us, and we look forward to continuing to work together to leverage our resources and opportunities afforded by our partnership,” said Moyaha.

She added that the board would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge co-founder and CEO advocate Anna Difo for being instrumental in championing the company’s growth and aspirations during the difficult past years and beyond.

“A true stalwart and philanthropist. Her unwavering commitment and leadership remain invaluable to NJCH and its supporting structures. May the Lord continue to keep you and bless you in all your endeavours and help you grow from strength to strength,” added Mayaha.

Difo said, part of their vision 2030 is to ensure that all children in their care are properly sheltered, in safe and secure buildings.

“All our buildings are fully developed and installed with solar energy. With that in mind, we also want to reduce our carbon footprint and be more active participants in recycling, be part of the education solution in South Africa, and be an active part of the greater Midrand and Gauteng Province community,” said Difo.

She concluded that vision 2030 would not be possible without the involvement of sponsors and donors, giving financial donations, providing professional services, fundraising, and sponsoring the children.
