Lions star Andries Coetzee to host local rugby clinic

‘Boeboes’ will be joined by fellow Lions teammates Ruan and JP Smith.

Former Springbok and Lions star Andries ‘Boeboes’ Coetzee is looking to give back to the town that gave him his sea legs, with the Rooies legend set to be involved in several rugby clinics in Middelburg.

As part of a triumvirate with fellow Lions players and twins Ruan and JP Smith, their Eight7Rugby venture is set to meet with different schools this week to determine an appropriate date and time to host a clinic focused on primary schools, and a separate clinic focused on high schools.

The trio bring a wealth of experience, with their combined career totals spanning over three decades

At this stage, the sessions are planned to take place at Kees Taljaard Stadium to serve as a neutral ground for all schools willing to participate.

Eight7Rugby was formed to help aid in the development of South Africa’s next generation of rugby talent, as well as share their passion and love for the game.

Once confirmed, the dates of the clinics will appear in a future issue of the Middelburg Observer.
