We Care 4 Nelspruit tackles abortion posters

Pr TJ Maré and his team embarked on the campaign to clear away the backstreet abortion posters around the Mbombela CBD and revive the town to its former glory.

Pr TJ Maré’s brainchild, We Care 4 Nelspruit, has completed its drive to remove all advertisements for backstreet abortions in the CBD.

The project started on October 2. Maré said this campaign is part of the plan to restore the city to its former glory.

The members cleaned building walls, trees, streetlights, traffic lights and road signs.

He said they had identified those who were behind these stickers by their vehicle and found their address, and discovered they are not South African nationals. They have handed the information to the authorities so they can deal with them.

“As for the stickers, even though they are water-glued, once they are placed on the sign and then removed, it damages the writing on it. To remove a sticker, one needs at least 2L of water. We need everyone to come on board and protect the city on #nomore_backstreet_abortion in Mbombela,” he said.

“We want to keep our city clean and neat, and these people need to be dealt with. The authorities must ensure they do not put the stickers on the electrical poles. They are making the city look filthy and dirty and we cannot allow that to happen. The residents need to declare war against these people again. We need to put a stop to that and need by-law enforcement to work with us to ensure they arrest these people and deal with them accordingly,” Maré urged.

To clean the entire CBD, the organisation removed 5 000 stickers, using 11 000L water and 100L petrol.

Maré thanked everyone who was involved in the project and for all the support he had received from the community.

As We Care 4 Nelspruit is not funded by local government, they depend on donations to execute their duties. He is once again calling on anyone who can help to come on board so that they can continue beautifying the city.

He also said that now they are done with the CBD, they will be clearing up in some residential areas and around schools, and they intend to finish all remaining areas before the end of this week.
