Rami Chuene on ‘The Queen’ exit: I won’t be getting into details as advised by my legal team

Her announcement left fans disappointed, with some vowing to stop watching the show.

Actor Rami Chuene has left her fans disappointed after confirming her exit from popular soapie The Queen, following weeks of speculation. According to Sunday World, Chuene is leaving following behind-the-scenes drama, along with Setumo Motsoaledi, who plays Mmabatho, though the latter’s reason for her exit is unknown.

Though Chuene confirmed her exit from the soapie, she, however, said she would not be going into much detail advised by her legal team.

She said: “Yes, TGOM’s stint on #TheQueenMzansi has come to an end. Unfortunately, I won’t be getting into details as advised by my legal team. I still have to finish shooting and I’m hoping to execute as excellently, exceptionally and professionally as I always have. #TGOMNATION forever”

Her announcement left fans disappointed, with some vowing to stop watching the show.

Chuene has previously opened up about the challenges entertainers face to ensure that the show goes on, exposing some of the inhumane working conditions experienced by many.

She said in part: “Funerals? The only funeral you’re allowed or guaranteed to miss work for is your own.

“You’re not allowed to get sick. If you go to a doctor and he books you off, production has a right to ask their own doctor for a second opinion.

“You can’t just ask for a day off. Do you know how much money you actually cost production when you’re fatigued and can’t shoot? How dare you!

“We’re sorry that you had to go for an emergency surgery but are you able to shoot in three days?”
