‘Days of Our Lives’ producers release entire cast from their contracts

'All indications are that NBC would like to keep the show going,' says a source at Sony Pictures Television.

Producers of long-running soapie Days of Our Lives have reportedly released the entire cast from their contracts as Sony Pictures Television and NBC negotiate to renew the show.

In the meantime, the soapie is set to go on an indefinite hiatus at the end of November. The show has, however, not been cancelled.

A Sony Pictures Television “source”, reportedly told TVLine: “All indications are that NBC would like to keep the show going.”

If negotiations are successful, viewers may not be affected as the soapie shoots eight months in advance. It will reportedly have enough episodes when it stops production at the end of November to last through the first few months of 2020, with production is expected to resume in March should negotiations be successful.
